Masottina Ai Palazzi Rizzardo Reserve Montesco and Rizzardo are the wines closest to the heart of Adriano Dal Bianco. They are the result of one man’s passion for wine and constant research and experimentation. Oenologists must constantly challenge themselves and above all define the character of a wine. If Montesco and Rizzardo were an image, it would be of Adriano’s heart and hand. Rizzardo RESERVE If Montesco is the dominant red wine, Rizzardo stands out among white wines. The very name evokes power and importance, coming as it does from that of a fourteenth century warlord and signore from Treviso. The Rizzardo vineyard was established as an experiment in the 1990s, serving as an observation post for the creation of the Colli di Conegliano DOCG Denomination. During this initial phase, several white grape varieties were planted to assess their adaptability to the territory. Over time, agronomic observation and natural selection led to favoring the varieties that best express the character of the Colli di Conegliano. 55% Chardonnay 35% Manzoni Bianco 10% Sauvignon Once again, as with Montesco, nature will determine year by year the actual percentages of varieties comprised in the blend. The result is an elegant, full-bodied wine that ages well and provides authentic thrills. TASTING NOTES Straw yellow with jade highlights. On the nose a rich bouquet blends the aroma of wild flowers such as chamomile, clover and dandelions with hints of fruit, in particular, peaches and apricots and tropical mango and pineapple. A light hint of wood from maturation in oak harmonises the entire aromatic profile. In the mouth a triumph of flowers and fruit. The notes perceived on the nose return repeatedly in the mouth, where the sensation is of riper fruit with a slight hint of citrus fruit. SERVING SUGGESTIONS Excellent served with fish fresh from the catch. More daring, try it with toasted walnut bread, cream cheese and orange blossom honey.
